We have all been in that uncomfortable space after a disagreement. The loud voices have stopped, but the room still feels heavy. You are both moving around the house, dodging eye contact, and trying to figure out how to get back on solid ground.

In our latest blog post, we are thrilled to introduce Raymond (Ray), a therapy dog in training brought to our practice through the passion of one of our therapists, Megan Grove. Inspired by the incredible work of Paws for the Powerless—a local non-profit dedicated to suicide awareness and mental health support—Megan set out to bring that same comfort and grounded presence to our office.

When you start exploring recovery, it can quickly feel like you are standing in front of a giant menu of options. You hear people talk about attending local 12-step meetings, joining SMART Recovery groups, or seeing an individual therapist.

It is completely normal to wonder where to start, or if you have to choose just one path.

The truth is, support groups and individual therapy do not compete with each other. They do different jobs, and understanding how they work can help you build a setup that feels right for you.

On Wendesday, our whole team at Rays of Wellness stepped away from our desks to spend a wonderful evening together at the Dixon City Market. We loved getting to catch up with everyone who stopped by to say hi to the team and give Raymond some love!
